WHO WE ARE
MISSION STATEMENT
She Inspires, Inc. exists to ignite hope, healing and legacy through literacy, advocacy and empowerment by amplifying the voices of women and youth - especially those impacted by breast cancer and socioeconomic hardship.
VISION
We envision a world where every woman and child - regardless of diagnosis or disadvantage - knows her worth, owns her voice, and lives a life of purpose - free from fear, full of faith, and firmly rooted in legacy.
"Writing and publishing one's story is a powerful act of empowerment, yet the vast majority of people who dream of doing so, never take the step to make it a reality. According to Strides, over 80% of Americans express a desire to write a book, but less than 1% actually follow through and publish. This stark difference underscores the importance of not just dreaming, but acting on the desire to share one's unique experiences and voice with the world.
Writing your story is not only impactful for readers but also offers profound personal benefits to the author. Research has shown that expressive writing can improve mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. A study published in the Journal of Psychosomatice Medicine, found that individuals who engaged in regular, reflective writing reported lower blood pressure and stronger immune function. Writing helps people process complex emotions, promotes self-discovery, and fosters a sense of accomplishment and control over their narrative.
By turning the intention to write into action, individuals can unlock these significant health benefits and contribute to a legacy that inspires and empowers others. Sharing personal stories has the power to connect, heal, and motivate change, making the pursuit of writing not just a personal milestone but a meaningful contribution to collective growth."
Pink Ink Collective (PIC) consists of heart-centered, committed women who intentionally form meaningful relationships that encourage support for women both impacted by, or personally navigating the cancer journey with grace, grit and God at the center. This is a group of women who believe in the healing power of words.
Whether through journaling, poetry, writing, or sharing testimonies, the women of PIC come together to turn pain into purpose and diagnosis into destiny. It's a safe and supportive space where writing brings healing and as a reminder that our stories matter. Each woman is dedicated to supporting other women and children in the community and emphasizing the importance of early detection.
As a sisterhood, each member participates in monthly meetings, and assists in community outreach events.
We are women who encourage each other through life's storms and celebrate each other's achievements and successes. We support each other in our day to day life, career and business, while respecting and honoring our individual faith-walk as daughters of the Most High God.
We are heart-centered women who thrive when we are walking in our divine purpose.
"Literacy is a cornerstone of college readiness, playing a critical role in a student's ability to succeed in higher education. Strong reading and writing skills are essential for comprehending complex texts, engaging in analytical discussions, and producing well-crafted academic papers. Unfortunately, many prospective college students face significant challenges in this area. According to recent data, approximately 40% of students who take the ACT do not meet the college readiness benchmark for English and reading, which indicates they may struggle with the rigorous demands of college-level work. Similarly, over 50% of students score below 600 on SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section, a key metric that colleges use to asses literacy skills.
These statistics contribute to lower admission rates, as colleges and universities often require competitive ACT and SAT scores as part of their application process. Students who fail to demonstrate proficient literacy skills are at a disadvantage, reducing their chances of being admitted into their desired programs and institutions. Addressing literacy gaps through early intervention robust reading programs, and targeted support can help increase college admission rates and ensure students are better prepared for the academic challenges ahead."
Too often, brilliant young men and women - especially from under-served communities - lack access to mentorship and resources that affirm both their faith and their intellect. I.G.N.I.T.E Legacy Leaders Mentorship Program fills this gap, empowering them to rise boldly, walk confidently in their calling, and build legacies of success rooted in purpose.
The Legacy Storytelling Project is a personal storytelling assignment that helps the mentee reflect on their faith, their future and their unique path into a STEAM career - while creating something meaningful to share with the world. It's a powerful opportunity for young men and women to transform their voice into a vessel of impact, purpose, and legacy.
The Claude & Lynda Merchant scholarship will be awarded annually.

Statistics reveal the urgency of addressing literacy at an early age. According t0 the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), only 35% of 4th graders and 34% of 8th graders in the USA are proficient in reading. This means nearly two-thirds of students in these critical learning stages are performing below proficiency, risking long-term academic struggles. Failure to establish these vital skills early contributes to lower pass rates, diminished confidence, and reduced readiness for the rigors of high school and beyond.
She Inspires, Inc. serves as the leading educational resource that prioritizes comprehensive literacy programs that foster strong reading and writing abilities from the earliest years of school. We empower our students with the tools they need for future success, closing achievement gaps and opening pathways for lifelong learning and growth."
